Member, inspired to serve AFRISA, I’m Ugandan and a simulation and computational specialist, currently pursuing a professional doctorate in engineering, PDEng for Energy and Process Technologies (EPT, Mechanical Engineering, Thermal and Fluid Systems) at the faculty of Engineering Technology (ET), University of Twente (UT). I’m highly motivated to apply values and ethical principles to make a significant difference in AFRISA.

Ola I’m Laulinda, a pleasure to meet you. For me, there is nothing more beautiful and meaningful than connecting with people and get people connected. Growing up in a European environment but raised under African values I learned one essential thing You don’t need to be at home to feel at home. Home is a feeling of belonging.

My name is Eunice Adom. I am from Ghana and a second-year Masters Student at ITC. I joined Afrisa and eventually the board because I think it is important to connect with people from our continent in a foreign land. It helps us promote our culture, learn from other cultures as well build a community of relations. In addition to having a sense of belongingness, we can together brainstorm various ideas in helping build our dear continent in our own small way. I will encourage all students from Africa to get on board the AFRISA Train.

Afrisa consists of many inspiring members with so much potential. I am highly interested in working with such a community and create an environment where everyone can perform at there best.
By joining AFRISA I would like to share my experience, connect AFRISA and its members inside and outside the university to have better exposure and work with different interested parties. And yes to also grow as a person with everyone!

Hey Guys!
My name is Akintunde Akinyoade, 20 years old and I’m the Activity Manager of AFRISA for the upcoming 20/21 school year. I’m a Chemical Engineering student at the UT and football and music are my major hobbies.
My main goal for AFRISA in the upcoming year is to work alongside members of the board and activity committee to foster and unify the bond between members of this wonderful committee by organizing exhilarating and exciting events!

My name is Adedayo Ladapo from Nigeria. I joined AFRISA association to be a part of a community where my ideas could be shared and translated with like-minded individuals to bring all African students together. In doing this, the hope was to promote socio-cultural diversity, establish an African student union, stimulate stronger cultural ties amongst AFRISA and other student organizations, stimulate a better understanding and ties within the Dutch community, and educate students about Africa’s culture, history, economy and political structures to help students have a better university experience. With the help of other esteemed board members at AFRISA, we acted as a liaison between the African Students Association and other campus organizations.
In a nut shell, we planned events together, socialized, hosted workshops and volunteered. And during this time, I learnt a lot about working more with people.
I served as the secretary of AFRISA. I helped in planning and facilitating weekly general meetings and assisted in creating and keeping records of all executive board meetings.

Hi, I’m Yvan, a second-year Electrical Engineering student. I’m the treasurer of AFRISA. Through this responsibility, I try to make sure there’s an available budget for all the events planned throughout the year, and I also encourage students to develop themselves through various committees.
